As leaders, we need to spend more time asking questions and less time telling people what to do.

The Coaching Habit is a simple book that enables just that. 7 simple coaching questions that will help us have more impact as leaders. These questions can be used for coaching others as well as coaching ourselves to help get to the root of the problem.

Performance coaching and development coaching

The book addresses 2 different styles of coaching.

  • Coaching for performance is about addressing and fixing a specific problem or challenge related to work. The everyday stuff, which is important and necessary.
  • Coaching for development is about turning the focus from the issue to the person dealing with the issue. This is usually the more powerful as it focused more on you learning, developing, and growing rather than just getting something sorted out.
